Farming and cooking

A useful first kitchen has storage, a cutting board and knife, then a cooking pot over heat. Farmer’s Delight supplies the foundation; More Delight, Rustic Delight and Spanish Delight add foods and ingredients.

  1. Place the board with a clear top surface.
  2. Hold the ingredient and use it on the board.
  3. Switch to the recipe’s tool and use the occupied board.
  4. Collect the result. The knife stays in your hand during cutting.

The raw porkchop → bacon walkthrough is a tested example. Different ingredients can require different tools. The recipe lists the accepted tool group.

Place a Cooking Pot over an appropriate heat source, such as a lit stove or campfire. Open its menu, put the recipe ingredients into the ingredient slots and provide its serving container when required. Leave output space free.

Do not put bowls, tools or unrelated ingredients into arbitrary input slots. An extra ingredient can stop a recipe from matching. The recipe’s container is separate from its food ingredients.

If cooking stalls, check heat first, then the exact ingredients and serving container. On Bedrock, use the supported machine menu rather than assuming the slots are arranged like Java’s screen.

A Stove supplies a cooking surface and heat. A Skillet cooks compatible foods using a heat source; its interaction is different from a multi-ingredient pot recipe. Campfire-cooking recipes identify foods that use that cooking family.

Use the food and farming catalogue to trace a meal back to its crops and ingredients. Seeds, raw harvests, cut ingredients and completed dishes are separate items. Keep them in labelled storage to avoid consuming an ingredient needed for the next step.

Food detail pages show hunger points, saturation and declared consumption effects with their chances and durations. For example, Chicken Salad supplies a five-second Regeneration effect. Hunger points and saturation are separate: saturation is the hidden reserve used before the hunger bar drains.

The individual recipe identifies the station, tool, fuel, heat and serving container when applicable. Follow an ingredient’s link to find its own preparation recipe. Some items have extra scripted behavior beyond their default consumption data; their in-game tooltip remains useful for current settings.

Use the recipe finder for a particular food, ingredient or workstation.
