Building with Chipped
Chipped expands familiar materials into decorative variants. Choose the base material first, then use a workstation to select its appearance. The installed server port makes its conversions available through the stonecutting recipe set. All seven themed benches share those conversions.
Workbench styles
Section titled “Workbench styles”| Workstation | Visual theme |
|---|---|
| Carpenter’s Table | Wood-based decoration. |
| Mason’s Table | Stone and masonry. |
| Botanist’s Workbench | Plant and garden materials. |
| Glassblower | Glass decoration. |
| Loom Table | Wool and textile decoration. |
| Alchemy Bench | Its supported magical/decorative material families. |
| Tinkering Table | Its supported utility and crafted decoration. |
These are visual themes, not separate material restrictions in this server’s port. The offered conversion recipes determine which particular inputs work. Each bench needs two adjacent block spaces when placed.
Java opens a stonecutter-style selection menu. Bedrock opens the server’s paged Workbench: material in the top-left, design buttons below, and the crafted result in the top-right. The arrow buttons move between pages. Help, page and preview icons are controls, not free items.
Find a specific look
Section titled “Find a specific look”Search the Chipped catalogue for the base material, such as oak or stone. Each variant has its own name, thumbnail and full item ID. The ID is useful when two similar textures are hard to distinguish.
Some imported conversion recipes use a shared material group. The group page shows the eligible variants; it does not mean a conversion consumes one of every listed block.
Bedrock’s Creative inventory
Section titled “Bedrock’s Creative inventory”Many Chipped variants are deliberately absent from the Bedrock Creative list because listing all of them caused client problems. They remain registered. Use the supported workbench or ask an admin to identify the needed item by its full ID.
Connected textures and individual presentations can differ between clients. Check a small section in the world before committing to a large facade.
Building a community dungeon or tavern
Section titled “Building a community dungeon or tavern”Keep a bounded copy of the build, its entrance and exit positions, and a written description of the intended rules. A structure or schematic can preserve a build; it does not preserve an imagined win condition. See community builds for a handoff checklist.
