Eating and client controls
Hold the item and use it until consumption finishes. On Java, hold right-click; on Bedrock, hold the assigned use control. Normally you need room in your hunger bar to eat it. Aim away from interactive blocks if using it opens a block or places an ingredient instead.
Food rules are applied by the server on both clients. Custom status artwork can differ on Bedrock; the effect names above identify the registered behavior.
